joining the dots

Eventually, I'm gonna introduce Mat from Italy today. I met him nearly 3 years ago, in London. He gave me some opportunity to involved with his first book 'Proud 2 Be a Flyer'. Then also privately we became good friends. We made a trip to Japan this Spring, and met his friends that many are creators which was really interesting to me. He is a Graphic Designer influenced by sub culture scene. He does work a lot with music industry, also with fashion industry too. From my point of view, there are so many graphic designer that have very similar style these days (or they are just copying style), and only few Graphic design that keeping their own style, even though they can be flexible when they are working with clients. He is one of those with 'style' and good sense of visual language. When I finish UNI, I would like to do some work together.

やってきました、今日はついにイタリアのMatを紹介したいと思います。彼と出会ったのは３年前、ロンドン東部であったあるイベントでした。それから、彼の作った本'Pround 2 Be a Flyer'に参加させてもらい、つきあいが始まりました。今年の春には一緒に日本に行き、そこで彼の知人のクリエーターの人達に会う事ができて、とても興味深い経験ができました。彼はグラフィックデザイナーですが、サブカルチャーからの影響が強く、音楽、そしてファッション関係の仕事をやっています。僕の視点からの話ですが、最近見るグラフィックデザイナー（ヨーロッパの、特にロンドン。）のスタイルはどれも似たり寄ったりで、誰もが他の人のスタイルをマニュアル的にコピーしている感じがします。少数のデザイナーだけが、自分のスタイルを保ちながらもクライアントの要求を満たせているんじゃないかという感じです。彼はそのうちの１人で、ビジュアルのセンスも冴えているような気がします。僕もそのうち一緒にプロジェクトをやれたらいいと思っています。
